Added DVD screencaptures of one of Mamie’s most recent theatrical roles, as Ruth Lowell in “The Lightkeepers”. Unfortunately, the film was little-seen and didn’t have much of a chance after running at various film festivals and a limited release in March 2010, it went straight-to-DVD this past November. So if you’re a fan of period pieces, be sure to grab it on DVD. Until then, enjoy the caps! :-)

Article courtesy the Boston Herald: “The Lightkeepers,” the made-on-Cape-Cod romantic comedy starring Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner, broke box-office records during a holiday-season preview on the Cape. The flick, directed by Cape filmmaker Dan Adams, earned $32,307 in a two-week run that began on Christmas Day. Producers say strong word of mouth made it the No. 1-grossing film of 2009 at the Cape Cinema in Dennis, and the No. 1 December flick of all time at the theater, even outperforming last year’s big hit, “Slumdog Millionaire!”. “The Lightkeepers,” co-starring Tom Wisdom and Meryl Streep’s daughter, Mamie Gummer, is the story of a pair of lighthouse attendants who swear off women until two attractive females arrive for summer vacation.

The trailers for two of Mamie’s upcoming films have been launched. First is “Coach”, a romantic comedy starring Hugh Dancy – judging from the trailer, Mamie will be playing his best friend. The second trailer is for “The Lightkeepers”, which is heavily promoted with “For Your Consideration” buzz just in time for awards season. Makes one wonder if the film will be released anywhere until December since no official release date has been announced so far.
