Mamie Gummer returns to “The Good Wife”

News courtesy TV Guide: Before she heads to ABC’s mid-season Off the Map, Mamie Gummer will reprise her role as prosecutor Nancy Crozier on The Good Wife, TVGuide.com has learned. The 27-year-old actress, and daughter of Meryl Streep, will return in the fourth episode of the season. After working on opposite sides of a murder case last season, Nancy and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will team up as co-counsels representing a DJ and security team who are being sued for a fatal stampede at a rave concert. Gummer will next star in Shonda Rhimes’ new series Off the Map, about a medical clinic in South America. The series is scheduled to debut midseason on ABC. The Good Wife’s sophomore season premieres on CBS, Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10/9c.

“The Good Wife”: Streep’s daughter astonishes

Article courtesy the Orlando Sentinel: Meryl Streep earned a record 16th Oscar nomination yesterday. ABC’s Diane Sawyer called it Streep’s ““sweet 16.” Streep enjoyed a sweet feat of another variety last night: America saw her daughter Mamie Gummer in action on “The Good Wife”. When you inspire your child to follow in your footsteps, could that be a bigger prize than an Oscar? Gummer was sensational as a young attorney whose aw-shucks, I’m-not-sure-what-I’m-doing manner confounded Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and fellow attorneys. Like the “Law & Order” shows, “The Good Wife” shrewdly draws on New York stage actors for guest roles. Dylan Baker kept viewers guessing as a seedy spouse suspected of murdering his wife. There were colorful turns by Peter Gerety as a judge and Titus Welliver as the district attorney. (Welliver was doing double-duty last night — he was also on “Lost.”) But Gummer was the standout. You’re going to be seeing a lot of this young woman. Having Meryl Streep as your mother may offer the best acting lessons in the world.
