Article courtesy the Boston Herald: “The Lightkeepers,” the made-on-Cape-Cod romantic comedy starring Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner, broke box-office records during a holiday-season preview on the Cape. The flick, directed by Cape filmmaker Dan Adams, earned $32,307 in a two-week run that began on Christmas Day. Producers say strong word of mouth made it the No. 1-grossing film of 2009 at the Cape Cinema in Dennis, and the No. 1 December flick of all time at the theater, even outperforming last year’s big hit, “Slumdog Millionaire!”. “The Lightkeepers,” co-starring Tom Wisdom and Meryl Streep’s daughter, Mamie Gummer, is the story of a pair of lighthouse attendants who swear off women until two attractive females arrive for summer vacation.
