John Carpenter is making a long-awaited return to the big screen with the world premiere of The Ward at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Ward is a thriller about a young woman, played by Amber Heard, in a 1960s mental institution who becomes terrorized by malevolent unseen forces. The movie is part of Toronto’s Midnight Madness sidebar. The Toronto International Film Festival is set to run from September 9 to 19.

News courtesy TV Guide: Before she heads to ABC’s mid-season Off the Map, Mamie Gummer will reprise her role as prosecutor Nancy Crozier on The Good Wife, TVGuide.com has learned. The 27-year-old actress, and daughter of Meryl Streep, will return in the fourth episode of the season. After working on opposite sides of a murder case last season, Nancy and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) will team up as co-counsels representing a DJ and security team who are being sued for a fatal stampede at a rave concert. Gummer will next star in Shonda Rhimes’ new series Off the Map, about a medical clinic in South America. The series is scheduled to debut midseason on ABC. The Good Wife’s sophomore season premieres on CBS, Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10/9c.
