Mamie to play Sonya in “Uncle Vanya”

Mamie Gummer’s career in the theater, after winning raves for her performance in this year’s “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” on Broadway, will get yet another boost. Austin Pendleton will direct Denis O’Hare in Classic Stage Company’s production of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, to play January 17 – March 1, with an opening date to be announced. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard join the cast that also includes Cyrilla Baer (Marina), Mamie Gummer (Sonya), Delphi Harrington (Maria), George Morfogen (Srebryakov), and Louis Zorich (Waffles).
